Is Unlimited Hosting Really Unlimited?

It seems that there is a common ground with the webmasters, unlimited hosting is simply a marketing scheme.

So why is it that people will flock to this type of hosting knowing that it simply does not exist? Why would you jeopardize your website and your potential earnings to have something that is known to be a myth?

I have read numerous times on the net someone having a “fire sale” on a server that they rent/own claiming unlimited everything and selling accounts like they are indeed on fire. I will read the post from beginning to end and low and behold most of the time when I get to the end it is people already having problems with the service.
I currently reside on a VPS and have a shared hosting account with 2 different companies and I am here to say that I pay around $40.00 per month for both accounts. Knowing that I pay a lot of money for my hosting does not make me feel good but knowing that in 2 years my sites have never been down unless it was my doing makes it worth the money.

If the common webmaster knows that these types of ridiculous hosting offers are untrue then why would you assume the risk?

I know that these days money is tight and everyone is looking for a break, but in my opinion sometimes pinching a penny may cost more in the long run…
